UNIZIK Primary School Wins 2026 Mathalon Competition in Anambra
The second Mathalon Mathematics Competition has ended in Awka, Anambra State, with pupils from 22 primary schools competing in numerical ability, speed, critical thinking and problem-solving. The 2026 edition, held at the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board headquarters, featured Primary Five and Six pupils. UNIZIK Primary School, Awka, emerged overall winner, followed by Gran Hermano School and Kingdom Heritage School, Awka. Benbee Unique Primary School and Candy Kiddies International Schools placed fourth and fifth respectively. Winners received cash prizes, educational materials and certificates, while all participants were recognised. Organisers said the annual competition is designed to make mathematics more engaging for children and build the analytical skills needed for science, technology and innovation.
