Trump Declares “Cuba Is Next” After Highlighting U.S. Military Wins

At a Miami investment forum, President Donald Trump announced “Cuba is next” as he celebrated recent U.S. military actions abroad. He praised successes in Venezuela and Iran without detailing a specific plan for Cuba. Trump noted that his strong military might not always need to be used, but added that intervention sometimes becomes necessary. He then quipped, “Pretend I didn’t say that.” Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel has confirmed high-level talks with Washington aimed at averting a clash. Earlier this month, Trump also suggested Cuba could face a “friendly takeover” — a phrase he quickly amended to say it “may not be friendly.”
