Mark Cuban is an American entrepreneur, investor and TV personality. He owns the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and co-owns AXS TV and 2929 Entertainment. He also invests in the hit show Shark Tank. Born in Pittsburgh in 1958, Cuban grew up in a working-class Jewish family. He launched his first venture selling garbage bags at 12 and later sold stamps, coins and newspapers. He left high school early to attend the University of Pittsburgh before transferring to Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. After graduation he worked at Mellon Bank and then as a bartender and salesperson. He founded MicroSolutions, a successful software firm, before selling it and moving into sports and media. He has since grown his fortune to over $4.5 billion through smart investments and innovative ideas. In 2002 he married Tiffany Stewart. They have three children and Cuban is known for his dedication to family. He maintains a reputation free of scandals and continues to back new ventures with the same entrepreneurial spirit he showed as a teenager.
