Navy Cracks Down on Pipeline Vandalism, Arrests Three in Bayelsa
The Nigerian Navy has arrested three individuals linked to the vandalism of the Oando–Ondewari pipeline in Ogboinbiri community, Southern Ijaw LGA, Bayelsa. Acting on intelligence, personnel from Operation DELTA SENTINEL teamed up with a private surveillance outfit to raid a hideout in Ondewari on June 12. Investigators confirmed crude oil spillage following a deliberate breach along the pipeline corridor. A fourth suspect remains at large as the navy continues investigations. The arrested suspects will be handed over to the appropriate agency for further probing and prosecution under existing laws.
