NITDA and ONDI Launch Technical Working Group for Nigeria’s Regulatory Sandbox

On May 21, 2026, NITDA’s Acting Director of Regulation and Compliance led the inauguration of a Technical Working Group for the National Regulatory Sandbox. This multi-agency framework will support controlled testing of innovative products and services across sectors like AI, digital health, agritech, mobility and energy. Led by ONDI under NITDA, the Sandbox aims to strengthen collaboration between regulators and innovators. The Working Group will provide governance support, strategic guidance on operations, and expert input on sector-specific regulations. The new framework marks a shift toward clear, coordinated governance. Innovators can now test bold ideas with greater confidence under supervised conditions. This initiative lays the groundwork for a more innovation-ready Nigeria.
