Police Arrest Suspect Over Killing of 60-Year-Old Woman in Ondo

Police in Ondo State have arrested Samuel Akoade over the killing of 60-year-old Olufunke Amoo in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area. The victim was reportedly found in a pool of blood at her home on Sunday, with deep machete cuts. Officers who responded to the report secured the scene, documented it and recovered a machete suspected to have been used in the attack. Police said the suspect allegedly fled before officers arrived but was later arrested. Amoo’s body has been deposited in a mortuary, while the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Akure for further investigation. The Commissioner of Police has directed a thorough investigation to establish the circumstances of the killing and prosecute anyone found responsible.
