Pink Fleur Launches Scarf Campaign to Fund 100 Women-Owned Businesses

Pink Fleur Launches Scarf Campaign to Fund 100 Women-Owned Businesses — 1 of 4
1 / 4

Fashion entrepreneur Zainab Salihijo has launched Pink Fleur’s “1 Million Scarves” campaign in Abuja to raise funds for 100 women entrepreneurs across Nigeria. Proceeds from specially designed scarf sales will provide grants to women running small businesses such as tailoring, carpentry, food processing and perfume making. The support is intended to help beneficiaries grow and formalise their businesses. The Pink Fleur Foundation is implementing the initiative with the PAGED Initiative, which will help identify beneficiaries and manage the funds. Buyers will be able to see the individual entrepreneur their scarf purchase supports. Organisers say the campaign may later allow beneficiaries to create and sell their own scarf designs, opening an additional income stream through fashion and creativity.

How will the campaign decide which women-owned businesses receive grants, especially across different parts of Nigeria?

I agree, a clear and fair selection process across regions would make the campaign more reassuring for applicants.

The idea is promising, but raising enough through scarf sales for 100 grants will need clear updates on progress and distribution.

Buyers could support by choosing a scarf as a gift too, while Pink Fleur shares simple grant eligibility details.
