NSE Rebounds with N3.2 Trillion Gain as ASI Climbs 2.23%

Investors enjoyed a N3.2 trillion boost as the Nigerian stock market bounced back from a one-day downturn. Market capitalisation rose from N143.97 trillion to N147.17 trillion. Strong demand in consumer, energy and industrial stocks drove the rally. WAPCO, Industrial and Medical Gases, FTN Cocoa Processors, Presco and Austinlaz were among 37 gainers that closed up to 10% higher. The All-Share Index added 4,977.51 points to settle at 228,579.80. Year-to-date returns now stand at 46.89%. Trading activity hit 907.96 million shares worth N68.23 billion across 72,886 deals. Losers edged gainers 42 to 39, led by UBA’s 10% drop.
