Zelenskyy Says Patriot Shortage Left Ukraine Unable to Stop Most Ballistic Missiles

Ukraine says Russia launched 35 missiles and 185 attack drones overnight, with Kyiv the main target. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said 27 of the missiles were ballistic and that Ukrainian forces intercepted only one because Patriot interceptors were in short supply. The attack affected seven districts of Kyiv, damaging 18 residential buildings, a school, the Lithuanian Embassy and other infrastructure. Authorities reported nine deaths and dozens of injuries, while emergency crews responded to fires and damage across the city. Zelenskyy urged Ukraine's allies to urgently supply more air-defence systems, arguing that additional anti-ballistic interceptors are needed to protect civilians. Russia also reportedly struck the Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Kharkiv and Poltava regions.
