Army Arrests Suspected Boko Haram Fuel Supplier in Gubio, Borno State
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI arrested a 23-year-old suspected logistics supplier to Boko Haram/ISWAP in Gubio Local Government Area on July 15, 2026. The operation was led by the 149 Battalion in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force. The suspect, Ali Umar, was intercepted near the Binduldul-Kareto axis driving a Volkswagen Golf (registration BO KGG 268AA) and carrying a Tecno mobile phone. During preliminary questioning, he allegedly admitted to supplying Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) to insurgent fighters. He remains in custody for further investigation as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist supply chains in the North-East.
