PSG’s Achraf Hakimi to Face Trial Over Rape Allegations

Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi will stand trial on rape charges, a French court confirmed this week. The alleged incident dates back to February 2023, when a 24-year-old woman reported that Hakimi sexually assaulted her at his home near Paris. The Versailles Court of Appeal reviewed his request to dismiss the case in May, but investigators found enough evidence to proceed. Hakimi, who is Morocco’s national team captain and has denied all wrongdoing, issued a statement saying he feels he’s been “an easy target.” He welcomed the trial as an opportunity to clear his name and defend his family and reputation.
