Tolu Arokodare Scores on Ajax Debut in 3-2 Win Over Volendam

Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare scored on his Ajax debut as the Dutch side beat FC Volendam 3-2 in a pre-season friendly on Sunday. Arokodare came on in the 71st minute for Marcos Leonardo and made an immediate impression. He netted Ajax’s third goal in the 88th minute after Anton Gaaei’s cross caused confusion in the Volendam defence. The 25-year-old joined Ajax from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a season-long loan earlier this week. Ajax have an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season. He will hope the encouraging start helps him earn a regular place in Ajax’s squad for the 2026/27 campaign.
