Senator Umeh: Obi’s Amaechi Visit Was Routine, Atiku Should Step Aside

Senator Umeh: Obi’s Amaechi Visit Was Routine, Atiku Should Step Aside — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Senator Victor Umeh says Peter Obi’s meeting with ex-Governor Rotimi Amaechi was a normal political consultation, not a demand for anyone to step down. Speaking in a recent TV interview, he described reports of negotiation as a misrepresentation. He explained that opposition aspirants must consult one another to build consensus ahead of the 2027 race. Umeh argued that former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, who has contested since 2003, should make way for younger leaders bringing fresh ideas. He warned that ignoring public expectations could cost the opposition dearly against an entrenched ruling party. The senator stressed that personal ambition must yield to the broader mission of offering Nigerians a clear alternative.

Make sure say you read Umeh's exact words on TV before accepting any narrative about Obi and Amaechi.
