Ex-Operation Safe Haven Commander Flags Huge Domestic, International Funding for Boko Haram

Maj-Gen Anthony Atolagbe (rtd) says Boko Haram is backed by heavy funding from both inside and outside Nigeria. He raised the claim during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time. Atolagbe noted that the armed group may be using imported Starlink equipment for communications. He warned that the threat goes beyond Nigeria’s borders and points to sponsors outside the country. He called for coordinated action by the UN, AU, ECOWAS and other affected nations. Only a united effort, he argued, can deliver a lasting solution to terrorism and banditry.
