The Catholic Youth Organisation of Nigeria (CYON) has disowned a letter circulating online under the name “Catholic Youth Association of Nigeria” (CYAN), titled “Our Faith Must Rise Above Partisan Politics.” CYON said the document is false, unauthorised and an act of impersonation. It stated that CYON is the recognised national umbrella body for Catholic youths in Nigeria and that the purported CYAN does not exist. The organisation urged the public not to share or rely on the letter, adding that it may pursue lawful action against those responsible for the alleged impersonation.
