Igbo Chiefs Bury the Hatchet in Lagos After Union Committee Intervention
Naomi Onome reports that a dispute between Eze Chika Nwokedi and High Chief Chibuike Egu has been settled peacefully. A five-member ad-hoc committee appointed by the Obodoukwu Town Union reviewed allegations about a one-billion-naira palace project and a related petition. After hearing both sides and examining evidence, the committee found no link between Eze Nwokedi and the petition that led to High Chief Egu’s arrest. High Chief Egu acknowledged the findings and accepted that no council endorsement was involved. The meeting ended on a positive note. Both leaders reaffirmed unity within the Igbo community in Lagos, marking a major step for peace and cohesion.
