LemFi Partners with BVNK to Slash Remittance Fees Using Stablecoins
Every time someone in London sends money to Lagos, Accra, or Nairobi, high fees eat into the transfer. LemFi is tackling this by moving its cross-border settlement onto BVNK’s regulated stablecoin infrastructure. The result is near-instant transfers at a fraction of the usual cost, all within the same familiar app. Users won’t need to hold crypto or interact with stablecoins directly. The stablecoin layer runs invisibly behind the scenes, powered by an enterprise-grade system with over 25 global licences and approvals. This isn’t a crypto pivot but a compliance-first upgrade designed for scale and safety. The global average remittance cost is 6.36%, more than double the UN’s 3% target. Hitting that goal could return roughly $20 billion a year to families. With stablecoin payment volumes at $7.4 trillion last year and strategic backing from major players, this partnership could transform key corridors like Africa–UK and beyond.
