Benue Pastor Dies from Injuries After Release from Kidnappers

Rev. Samuel Gbinde, senior pastor of the Universal Reformed Christian Church in Guma LGA, was abducted two weeks ago alongside two church members. A ransom was reportedly paid for their release, but he had been severely tortured during captivity. After regaining freedom, Gbinde was rushed first to a mission hospital in Gboko and later to Makurdi, but he succumbed to his injuries a few days ago. Church sources say he endured brutal beatings that left him in critical condition. His death has brought deep sorrow to the NKST community and residents of Guma. Dr. Eunice Ortom, PDP candidate for Benue North-West Senate, mourned his passing as a huge loss and extended condolences to his family, the local church, and the wider congregation.
