Nigerian Army Distributes Free Fertilizer in Plateau to Boost Food Security and Peace — 1 of 4
1 / 4

The Nigerian Army has launched an agricultural outreach under Operation Enduring Peace, distributing free fertilizer to farmers in Wase, Kanke and Kanam LGAs of Plateau State ahead of the 2026 planting season. At Wase Township Stadium, Colonel Olugbenga Peter Osuntuyi, representing Major General Folusho Oyinlola, explained that economic stability underpins lasting peace. This non-kinetic strategy aims to reduce communal tensions and foster collaboration between security forces and local farmers. Traditional leaders, including the Emir of Wase, praised the initiative and pledged support for continued peace-building. Farmers hailed the timely delivery as a morale booster, while local government officials urged ongoing synergy with the military to drive further development.
