Katsina Hisbah Orders Officers to Get Warrants Before Entering Hotels or Homes
The Katsina State Hisbah Board has directed its personnel to obtain valid court orders or arrest warrants before entering hotels or private homes during official duties. The directive, contained in an August 4, 2026 internal circular, followed a resolution reached at the board’s June 6 meeting. It takes immediate effect. The board said the rule is intended to ensure compliance with the Constitution, due process and existing laws. Exceptions apply only where the Commandant-General or applicable laws expressly permit entry without prior legal authorisation. Officers who breach the directive may face disciplinary action and possible legal consequences.
