Wushshi Alleges Tinubu Pressured Supreme Court to Weaken Opposition
A prominent Second Republic politician has accused President Bola Tinubu of influencing Supreme Court judges to rule against opposition parties. He spoke in Minna, Niger State, claiming judges were ordered to side with the Federal Government in PDP and ADC cases. He says this interference has produced conflicting judgments and eroded public confidence in the judiciary. Several judges, he adds, fear their reputations will suffer as the international community watches. Wushshi also alleges that the President engineered crises within viable opposition parties. He pointed to the INEC chairman’s removal of ADC leadership names and viral videos showing presidential aides instructing party members. The PDP and ADC suits are slated for April 22, with observers viewing their outcome as a precursor to the 2027 elections. Requests for responses from the Presidency, Supreme Court and INEC were unsuccessful.
