PFIPC Scandal: SGF Akume’s Office Implicated, ICPC Questions Gbajabiamila

PFIPC Scandal: SGF Akume’s Office Implicated, ICPC Questions Gbajabiamila

New revelations suggest part of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation’s office was used by Prince Adeniyi Matthew to run the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council at the federal secretariat in Abuja. Esther Walson-Jack, head of the civil service, told a House of Representatives committee that the PFIPC was allocated space officially reserved for the SGF’s office. The controversy centers on the N1.3 billion earmarked for the council in the 2026 Appropriation Act. Meanwhile, the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission has summoned President Tinubu’s chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, for questioning over his suspected role in the PFIPC’s creation and operations.

I'm not convinced we should jump to conclusions before the ICPC investigation into Gbajabiamila is complete.

Citizens should call for transparent reports on how public offices are allocated and used to prevent these abuses moving forward.
