Our True Rest: A Foretaste of the Heavenly Sabbath

Crossing the Red Sea was never the final goal for the Israelites. Entering Canaan under Joshua pointed to a deeper promise. That land stay was temporary and soon gave way to chaos. It showed us that earthly rest is only a shadow. Our real promised land is in heaven under the leadership of Jesus Christ. There we will enjoy an eternal Sabbath of rest for God’s people.
