NSA-Backed Ogoni Dialogue Offers Path to Lasting Peace, Says MOSOP

The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) is urging Ogoni communities to embrace the ongoing dialogue led by the National Security Adviser’s office. After 33 years of resistance against the Nigerian oil industry, MOSOP sees this as a unique chance to settle longstanding grievances and pursue development. MOSOP President Fegalo Nsuke condemned those seeking to derail the process for personal gain. He stressed that anyone benefiting from continued unrest risks denying Ogoni people a permanent solution and economic progress. On recent leadership disputes, Nsuke affirmed his mandate remains valid until the courts or a proper steering committee resolve pending legal matters. He urged unity behind the dialogue committee to ensure the process moves forward.
