12 Killed as Gunmen Raid Settlement Near Johannesburg

At least 12 people died after more than 10 armed men opened fire in an informal settlement east of Johannesburg late Tuesday. Police say the gunmen arrived in a vehicle, entered through multiple access points and carried out coordinated attacks on residents before fleeing. Authorities confirmed eight adult males and three adult females were found dead at the scene, and a twelfth victim later died in hospital. Investigations into the motive and identities of the attackers are ongoing.
