Fayose Warns ADC Risks 2027 Defeat Without Peter Obi

Fayose Warns ADC Risks 2027 Defeat Without Peter Obi

Former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose warned that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) may lose the 2027 presidential election if Peter Obi is excluded from its ticket. He made the remark at the PDP national convention in Abuja. Fayose also gave a mixed review of President Bola Tinubu’s performance. He said you need not achieve 100 percent on every issue to be deemed successful but added that, compared to past administrations, Tinubu is underperforming. On the opposition, Fayose insisted ADC’s fortunes depend on Obi’s involvement. He claimed that without Obi, ADC is finished and suggested Atiku Abubakar could secure the ticket. He also expressed doubt about Obi’s return to the Labour Party and the viability of his presidential bid.

I get why Obi's absence feels worrying, but other factors like campaign strategy and fresh leadership could shift ADC's odds.

It's interesting that Fayose made this warning at a PDP convention rather than an ADC event.

I'm not convinced Peter Obi's presence alone can secure victory for ADC in 2027.

ADC should focus on grassroots mobilization and clear policy proposals instead of relying solely on big names.
