The Federal Polytechnic Oko has appointed Dr. Ifeanyi Fidelis Okafor as Director of Medical Services for a five-year term, following a transparent, merit-based selection by the Governing Council. Dr. Okafor is a general surgeon with over fourteen years of experience in tertiary, secondary, and primary healthcare. He earned his medical degree from the University of Benin, an MSc in Human Anatomy from Ahmadu Bello University, and holds fellowships with the West African College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Previously, Dr. Okafor held key clinical and administrative roles at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, leading surgical services, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives. His leadership is expected to strengthen healthcare delivery across the polytechnic community.
