Ogun Governor Urges Zoning, Offers Refunds and Appointments to Promote APC Unity

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has called on APC aspirants to respect local government zoning and embrace consensus ahead of upcoming elections. Speaking in Abeokuta, he stressed that only one candidate can emerge per seat and urged dialogue over divisive primaries. To discourage bitter contests, he promised to refund form fees for unsuccessful hopefuls and offer them future appointments. The governor noted that grassroots leaders best assess local needs and assured that no candidate would be imposed. He praised party elders’ support for a fair, inclusive process and urged patience, recalling his own political journey from 1993 to 2019. Observers say the move highlights the APC’s strategy in Ogun State to manage internal competition through consultation, consensus and strategic incentives.
