Adeleke Withdraws EFCC Suit After Tinubu’s Intervention

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has withdrawn his lawsuit against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over the freezing of the state government’s bank account before the governorship election. Adeleke said President Bola Tinubu intervened and directed that the restriction be lifted. He said he had instructed the state Attorney General to discontinue the case, adding that he was ready to put the dispute behind him. The governor also alleged that some EFCC invitations to his aides were politically motivated. He maintained that those invited cooperated with the agency and were released after no wrongdoing was established.
