Ondo Police Dismiss Pastor’s Viral Warning of Imminent Attacks
The Ondo State Police Command has dismissed as unverified a viral clip in which a pastor warned of planned terror strikes in Akure, Owo and Okoko before this Friday. Apostle Michael Olowookere claimed terrorists intended to target churches, security outposts and Eid prayer gatherings. DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the police spokesperson, said there is no confirmed intelligence to back these allegations. He urged residents to remain calm and avoid spreading unsubstantiated information that could spark fear or panic. Security measures have been stepped up across the state. Surveillance, intelligence gathering and strategic deployments are ongoing at vulnerable locations. Residents are advised to stay alert and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
