The APC in Rivers State has cleared 33 House of Assembly aspirants and rejected 65 after its screening exercise. Nineteen appeals have been submitted so far. The deadline for submitting appeals is May 13, 2026. Abdul Aminu Mahmud has been named chairman of the appeals panel for these aspirants. Mahmud—widely dubbed the “oracle” online—was invited by party leaders as an external member to ensure a transparent and fair process. He says he is not affiliated with any party.
