Nigerian-Dutch Man Jailed Five Years After Four London Robberies
A 26-year-old Nigerian-born Dutch passport holder has been sentenced to five years in prison after carrying out four robberies in one day near Farringdon Tube station in London. He targeted men walking along Farringdon Road, stealing mobile phones, a work laptop and a £600 heirloom ring. Witnesses say he lunged at his first victim from behind, then demanded money while pretending to hold a weapon in his pocket. Police later arrested him on a bus with the stolen items and a wrap of crack cocaine. In court he denied the charges, claiming the ring was his and the drugs were planted. Judge Charles Falk rejected his explanations, saying he showed no remorse and committed the crimes to fund drug use.
