Akure Shops and Markets to Close for Aheregbe and Amole Festivals
The Deji of Akure has directed that markets, stalls and shops in Akure and surrounding areas remain closed on August 17 and September 1 for the annual Aheregbe and Amole festivals. The palace said the closure is part of the long-standing traditional observance and warned that trading or opening shops will not be permitted on the two days. Only registered pharmacies may operate, while patent medicine stores must remain closed. Movement of people and vehicles will not be restricted during the festivals.
