Oyo Police Nab Six Tricycle-Riding Armed Robbers in Ibadan Hotel Raid

Acting on a tip-off, officers from the Oyo State Police Command stormed a hotel in the 7UP/Academy area of Ibadan. They arrested six suspects believed to specialise in using tricycles to rob unsuspecting members of the public. Recovered items include 18 mobile phones, an Opay ATM card, a National Identity Number card and the syndicate’s operational tricycle. The suspects have been identified and are in custody. Command spokesperson DSP Alayande Olayinka confirmed the arrests and said the suspects have confessed to terrorising Ibadan residents. He assured the public that investigations continue and that the suspects will be charged in court once inquiries conclude.

I'm not fully convinced this will deter other robberies; these tricycle gangs always adapt quickly, so hope alone won't keep commuters safe.

Travelers should stay vigilant around tricycle riders in that area, double-check their mobile devices before boarding, and report any suspicious behavior immediately.
