Hebrews 11-12: Faith in Action and Endurance

Hebrews 11 highlights heroes whose confidence in God shaped their lives. Abel, Noah, Abraham, Moses and others acted on promises they could not yet see. Their obedience and trust earned them God’s commendation. Hebrews 12 urges us to run our race with perseverance. By fixing our eyes on Jesus, we learn to endure hardship without growing weary. His example as pioneer and perfecter of faith guides us through opposition. These passages remind us that genuine faith combines trust, action and endurance. We are encouraged to live boldly on God’s promises and press on toward the heavenly goal.

It's interesting that these heroes trusted promises they couldn't see, yet we rarely question how reliable those ancient accounts really are.

True, their faith felt bold even without proof. It makes you wonder how much of those accounts we take for granted.

Calling endurance running our race feels a bit simplistic when real struggles often aren't so neatly framed or victorious.

Maybe we can start by pinpointing one promise we trust today and take small obedience steps, mirroring those biblical examples in our own context.
