FEC Approves ₦438bn Road Projects and New Trailer Park Concessions

The Federal Executive Council has approved road construction and rehabilitation projects valued at about ₦438 billion, alongside public-private partnership concessions for highways and trailer parks. Key approvals include the ₦159.83 billion Ado-Ekiti-Iyin-Aramoko-Itawure-Osun border road, a ₦74.51 billion reconstruction of the Port Harcourt–Eleme Junction–Onne Port Junction section of the East-West Road, and ₦94.24 billion for phases II to V of the Ilara-Iselu Road in Ogun State. The council also approved concession arrangements for the operation and maintenance of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the Dikko-Maje section of the Suleja-Minna Road, and a greenfield trailer park in Aro-Ngwa, Abia State. The trailer parks are intended to move heavy-duty vehicles off major highways and improve road safety. The Works Ministry says the projects will improve connectivity, support trade and attract private-sector investment into transport infrastructure.
