Kaduna Bandits Abduct Nine Farmers and Attack Mosque, One Killed
Bandits carried out separate raids in Kaduna State, abducting farmers and storming a mosque during evening prayers. On Monday, June 1, armed gunmen on motorcycles seized six farmers working on their plots in Abashiya near Iburu Village, Kajuru LGA. Three of nine captives were released after sustaining injuries, but no ransom demands have been made public. The following night in Unguwar Namama, Giwa LGA, attackers opened fire inside a mosque between Maghrib and Isha prayers. One worshipper was killed, two were wounded and three more were taken hostage. The Kaduna State Police confirmed both incidents are under investigation and said security forces are coordinating efforts to rescue the abducted and restore calm along the border with Katsina State.
