“MAFARKI” Premieres Tonight on ROK2, Spotlighting Northern Girl-Child’s Dreams
The new series MAFARKI, produced by Uzee Usman in partnership with ROK Studios Nigeria, debuts tonight, April 16. It will air Monday through Thursday at 7:30pm on ROK2 (DStv 169, GOtv 10). Touted as one of the biggest productions from Northern Nigeria, the show features veterans Ali Nuhu, Uzee Usman, Tope Olowoniyan, Chelsea Eze, Rabiu Rikadawa, Eve Esin and Abdul Zada alongside newcomer Blossom Okpaleke. MAFARKI follows a young Northern girl whose dream of becoming a medical doctor is challenged by socio-cultural and economic barriers. It highlights her resilience and sparks conversations around gender, opportunity and education in the region.
