Iranian Strike on Jordan Base Kills Two US Soldiers

Iranian Strike on Jordan Base Kills Two US Soldiers

The US Department of Defense has named the two service members killed after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps struck Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan. 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, from Ewa Beach, Hawaii, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, from Carrollton, Texas, died on Friday. Feehan’s parents said he had planned to marry after his deployment and lived life to the fullest. Officials confirmed four additional US personnel were wounded and evacuated to a local hospital. In a separate incident, another service member died during a controlled detonation of a downed Iranian drone, and unidentified remains were recovered on base. These two deaths mark the first US fatalities from Iranian attacks since March. A dignified transfer ceremony for four service members is set for Wednesday, bringing the total US military death toll in this conflict to 17. Despite the escalation, diplomatic channels remain open. US and Iranian officials have expressed a willingness to engage in talks to de-escalate the situation.
