Opposition’s Split Clears Way for Tinubu’s Unchallenged 2027 Bid, Fayose Says

Ayo Fayose says no one can genuinely contest against President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election. He argues that a fragmented opposition has “destroyed their own journey” by fielding candidates across multiple parties. Despite lingering security challenges in Oyo, Kwara and other regions, as well as rising hunger and hardship, Fayose believes the divided opposition guarantees an easy win for Tinubu. He recalled the tight three-way race in 2023 between Atiku, Obi and Tinubu, adding that today’s split—through NDC, ADC, APM, NRM and others—undermines any real competition.
