Only 10 Allowed: Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial Resumes with Strict Courtroom Attendance Limit
The trial of IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu resumed at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday, July 18, 2025. Justice James K. Omotosho approved only ten attendees from the defendant’s side. The approved list includes eight senior lawyers and two close associates. The legal team features SANs Kanu G. Agabi, Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu, Paul Erokoro, Emeka Etiaba, Mela Audu Nunghe, Dr. Joseph Akubo, Uchenna Njoku, and Aloy Ejimakor. Also cleared to attend are Hon. Obi Aguocha and Prince Emmanuel Kanu. The session begins at 9:00 a.m. It follows the government closing its case. The defense has 14 days to file its written address on a no-case submission.
