Tuchel Slams England’s Sloppy Display Despite Beating Norway 2-1 to Reach World Cup Semis

Tuchel Slams England’s Sloppy Display Despite Beating Norway 2-1 to Reach World Cup Semis

Thomas Tuchel admitted he was unimpressed with England’s performance despite their 2-1 quarter-final win over Norway. After Norway took the lead through an Andreas Schjelderup strike, Jude Bellingham’s brace steered the Three Lions into their first World Cup semi-final since 1966. Norway had a golden chance to go 2-0 up, forced a disallowed goal and hit the bar before Bellingham’s late equaliser and extra-time winner. Tuchel said England “got lucky” and criticised his side’s sloppy technical play, slow tempo and avoidable mistakes. He praised the result but warned that the team must deliver a stronger display if they hope to go all the way.

Agree, he'll insist on tighter defensive shape and sharper ball circulation from the first whistle.

England scraped through on pure talent, but that sloppy start against Norway could haunt them in tougher matches.

I'm not convinced Bellingham's brace erased all defensive worries; sloppy marking still looks like a recurring issue.

Focusing on defensive drills and tighter midfield control should be Tuchel's priority before facing even tougher semifinal opponents.
