Ogun Police Deploy Officers to Secure 72 JAMB CBT Centres Ahead of 2026 UTME

The Ogun State Police Command has mobilized tactical officers and assets to all 72 accredited CBT centres across the state ahead of the 2026 UTME, running from April 16 to 25. According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, the deployment follows an intelligence-led security plan. Area Commanders are on high alert, supervising patrols and ensuring a visible police presence to deter malpractice or disorder. The police are working closely with JAMB officials to protect exam integrity. Any candidate or member of the public caught engaging in impersonation, malpractice, or disruptive behaviour will face immediate arrest and prosecution. Candidates are urged to follow all guidelines and focus on their exams to avoid legal action.

It seems like a heavy-handed approach for exam security when centres normally follow strict check-in procedures and cameras already record activities.

I no too sure say mobilizing so many armed officers truly stops malpractice; some digital surveillance fit yield better results for less money.

Providing clear guidelines and student briefings on arrival protocols could reduce bottlenecks more efficiently than visible armed patrols across all centres.
