Tragic Easter Egg Hunt Accident Claims Three Lives in Germany
On Easter Sunday in Satrupholm, northern Germany, a falling tree crushed a young mother, her 10-month-old daughter, and a 16-year-old teenager during a forest egg hunt. The area was under a storm warning with winds of up to 60 mph. About 50 new mothers, expectant mothers, and staff from a local residential group were searching for eggs when a 100-foot log suddenly toppled. Four people were trapped. An 18-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital and treated for serious injuries, while the infant later succumbed to her wounds. A spokesman for the residential group said they are mourning three young lives. He thanked all emergency responders and crisis counsellors for their swift actions. Minister-President Daniel Günther expressed deep sorrow and promised support for the families and witnesses of this terrible tragedy.
