Kwaru Community: How Politicians Ignore Voter Power
I see a stark gap between democratic promise and reality in Kwaru. We are a major voter base in Badarawa/Malali ward but remain sidelined once elections end. For over two decades, the main road from Sarkin Margi to the cemetery has lain in ruins. Successive representatives blamed each other for missing funds. The current lawmaker began repairs but abandoned the project after completing only a small stretch. The water project promised by one former representative never materialised despite assurances given in my presence. Campaign funding has sometimes delivered a quick fix, but lasting solutions remain out of reach. This cycle of token gestures and broken promises highlights a deeper crisis of representation. Kwaru must demand transparency and sustained accountability or risk perpetual marginalisation.
