Your Keys to Freedom: Open Heavens Devotional for July 21, 2026

Date: Tuesday, July 21, 2026 Theme: The Keys to Freedom Memory Verse: “See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil.” (Deuteronomy 30:15) Reading: Exodus 21:1–6 Today’s devotional explores the second step to breaking satan’s bondage: being willing to be helped. Though admitting our burdens is vital, true freedom begins when we welcome God’s deliverance. Just as Jesus asked the sick man if he wanted healing (John 5:2–9), our hearts must long for rescue and reject the chains we’ve grown comfortable with. When a slave loved his chains, Scripture says his ear was pierced to mark eternal servitude. But once a person decides to be free, their journey truly begins. Like the woman with the issue of blood (Matthew 9:20–22), our willingness to reach out to Jesus brings immediate deliverance. True freedom demands holy living, prayer, Bible study, and fellowship with believers. Prayer Points: - Thank God for the gift of life and freedom through Christ - Confess any love for bondage or reluctance to be delivered - Declare your readiness to be helped in every area of your life - Renounce every chain of addiction, fear, or sin - Commit to holiness, daily prayer, Scripture study, and godly fellowship

The discussion on Exodus 21:1–6 seems to highlight servitude laws, yet the devotional pivots to spiritual bondage and willingness.

I'm not convinced that willingness alone reflects the Exodus 21 guidelines; what about the detailed laws on servitude in that passage?

Try journaling your daily choices against the memory verse and pray specifically for the courage to embrace life and good.
