Customs Nab Bus Smuggling Military Uniforms and N259m Drugs in Ogun
Nigeria Customs operatives at Idiroko, Ogun State, intercepted an unregistered luxury bus carrying suspected military camouflage uniforms and illicit drugs worth over N259 million. The acting Area Controller, Oladapo Afeni, said intelligence-led surveillance tracked the vehicle along the Sagamu–Ore–Benin Expressway after it evaded several security checkpoints from Lagos. Officers recovered 197 camouflage trousers and shorts, five two-piece uniforms, 32 mixed camouflage tops, 154 parcels of synthetic cannabis indica and seven parcels of Colorado. Two suspects were arrested at the scene. The seized items and suspects have been handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation and prosecution. Authorities warn that unauthorised military apparel can facilitate impersonation and pose serious national security risks.
