Kano Governor Alleges Former Deputy Tried to Oust Him

Kano Governor Alleges Former Deputy Tried to Oust Him

Governor Abba Yusuf says his ex-deputy, Aminu Gwarzo, attempted to remove him from office without notice. He made the claim while hosting his supporters at the Kano government house. Yusuf added that Gwarzo never submitted a resignation letter before leaving the cabinet. He described the move as a bid to seize the governorship but said “God did not allow it.” Gwarzo resigned on March 27 after the state assembly threatened impeachment over alleged misconduct. He has since joined the African Democratic Congress, following the governor’s defection to the APC earlier this year.

How did Aminu Gwarzo manage to plan an ouster without any formal steps, and what proof does Governor Yusuf have?

On what grounds is Yusuf basing this claim—did he share any documents or witness statements?

Wait, so what evidence did the governor cite to back this ouster claim?

It's odd that a deputy would leave without a resignation letter, yet the governor only spoke up after supporters gathered.

I'm not convinced Gwarzo's departure was a coup attempt; maybe this is just internal politics blown out of proportion.

Both sides should provide clear documentation of any notices or letters to avoid future misunderstandings in government transitions.
