Tonight, the remains of actor Alex Ekubo finally arrived in his hometown of Arochukwu in Abia State. Family and friends gathered at the palace of Eze Arochukwu to welcome the convoy before it continued to the family residence. Close friend IK Ogbonna led a silent march alongside the hearse. Other Nollywood stars, including Ini Edo, Yomi Casual and Omoni Oboli, were spotted at the Uyo Airport and joined the procession to pay their final respects. Mourners lined the village streets wearing shirts and holding photos of the late actor. Alex Ekubo died last month at age 40 after a private battle with kidney cancer. He is survived by his wife, parents and siblings.
