Violent Mob Storms Osun Amotekun Office, Injures Officers and Seizes Weapons
The Osun Amotekun Corps confirmed a violent attack on its Egbedore command office in Awo on Monday night. A distressed civilian fleeing a football-related dispute sought refuge at the facility around 8pm and officers intervened to protect him. A large group of assailants armed with machetes and knives returned and launched a coordinated assault. They vandalised equipment, injured several officers and made off with firearms from the command. Amotekun personnel eventually repelled the attackers and restored order. Five suspects were arrested at the scene and transferred to the divisional police for further investigation. Authorities have condemned the incident as a brazen act of lawlessness. They are working to recover the stolen weapons and have urged residents to remain calm and provide any information that could aid the investigation.
